fireboat Great weather, great run, better party! Okay the splits were off but there’s always next year.  We would like to thank all our loyal sponsors, volunteers and of course participants.  It was a record turn-out.  Welcome to our new volunteers  and you thought you were just dropping the kids off for band practice. The Xaverian Orchestra was excellent,  and everyone loved hearing the Xaverian Pipers at the pier.  Along 3rd Ave it was water, water everywhere thanks to Delia’s Lounge and Cafe,  Caffe Cafe, The Greenhouse Cafe,Run For Your Life, and the Yellow Hook Grille.  A  blue and gold helium balloon arch at the finish line was a site for sore eyes and  the ice cold beer at the post race party wasn’t too shabby either.  We’re going to streamline the awards ceremony next year, which will leave more playing time for Head Over Heels and DJ Tommy Tunes.

MikeNYes, it’s a year of change! Congratulations to Mike N the first man to win the Hat Contest and I  got a walkie talkie (but not for my brother-in-law I would still be looking for it along with my car keys.)

Thanks to the Committee: Walter, Dee, Richie, Mr. & Mrs. Katen, Jane, Maureen, Jerry, Terry, Rob, Mike, Tom R, Tom T &  Tom J, Joe, Frank G, Peggy, Jimmy, Liz, Anna, Irene, Sigfried, Pat, Rosemary, Glenn, Ann Marie, Mike M.,Tommy H, Jimmy H, Ron R  Eddie Sarkis and Head over Heels, DJ Tommy Tunes and his lovely assistant Carol, Joe K, and Kenny P,  Jane G, Janice , and  everyone else who was kind enough to just jump in anywhere we needed help. Thanks to Marty & the Grill Pit (Not an easy job,  Kenny finally recovered from last year’s singed  hair & now he’s complaining of bee stings), last but not certainly not least our fearless leader, Rob O.  Welcome aboard to our new recruits, Paula, Pam, Loretta, and Barbara.  Sponsors, and volunteers are always welcome please email roliva@xaverian.org
